The LG V30 is real and will be announced right before IFA 2017 on August 31 in Berlin

After weeks of rumors, speculation, and even a guest appearance on Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s HitRecord, LG took to its Korean social blog to announce that it will officially unveil the V30 on August 31 in Berlin.

If the date and location ring any bells, that is because IFA 2017, Europe’s largest tech show and the home for many different announcements, officially opens its doors one day later on September 1. It is also because there was already speculation that the V30 would launch on August 31, with the report also alleging the phone will be available for pre-order more or less right after the announcement.

As for the phone itself, the V30 is expected to feature a 6-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display with rounded corners, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, a 3,200 mAh battery, and a new “floating bar” that will replace the secondary ticket found on previous iterations. The phone is also expected to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and dual rear cameras, the latter of which LG looks to heavily emphasize during the phone’s launch event:

This is a step-by-step slogan in prepping for cinematography, letting you know that the LG V30 is equipped with high-performance image capture.

All in all, the V30 looks to be LG’s true flagship for the latter half of 2017. According to the company, the launch event will be live-streamed over YouTube and Facebook at 9:05am CET (4:05am EST), so folks in the US will need to either stay up late or wake up pretty early to catch the stream.

Android Authority will have feet on the ground at IFA 2017 to bring you the latest news from the trade show, though we have already gathered a few thoughts about what we expect to see.
