T-Mobile One Unlimited: an amazing plan… if you are 55+

We are all on a constant hunt for the best bang for the buck. Smartphone plans are not the exception, and T-Mobile continues to offer some of the best deals around. The Uncarrier has just announced a plan that is very hard to beat – they call it T-Mobile ONE Unlimited.

$60 a month will get you two lines with unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data (taxes and fees included, with Autopay). It definitely sounds enticing, but the plan is not for everyone. In fact, only senior citizens of age 55+ qualify for the T-Mobile ONE Unlimited plan.

Yes, you will also benefit from all the perks the Uncarrier has to offer. This includes Simple Global, Mobile Without Borders, Gogo, DIGITS, Mobile Hotspot, Un-contract, Carrier Freedom, and Mobile Tuesdays. Not bad, right?

This is T-Mobile’s answer to the industry’s senior plans, which usually suggest feature phones and lackluster data allowances (if any). It is a known fact older people use less data, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get the option to use wireless services when needed.

John Legere, T-Mobile’s outspoken CEO, has a few words to say on the new plan:

For years, the carriers have been patronizing the generation that invented wireless. They thank these mobile pioneers by selling dumbed down ‘senior’ plans with exactly zero data and — get this — night and weekend minutes! That’s not just idiotic — it’s insulting!

Interested? Here is how it works. The user will have to pay $50 for the first line, while the secondary line will cost $10. This is after factoring in the Autopay discount, which amounts to $5 per line.

Go sign up and excuse me while I go talk to my grandma about opening a plan together!
