Gionee launches its mid-range A1 Lite with a 20 MP selfie camera in India

Gionee has announced the availability of A1 Lite in India. The latest smartphone in the company’s A1 series packs in a 20 MP selfie camera and a 4,000 mAh battery.

In line with the company’s latest fascination with selfies, the A1 Lite features a 20 MP front camera along with a customized selfie flash to spread light onto faces more evenly and softly. Gionee has also baked in a facial enhancement algorithm that automatically detects a user’s face and applies custom beauty settings.

Available in two color variants – Gold and Black – the Gionee A1 Lite will be available across all retail stores in India at a price of INR 14,999 ($234) starting tomorrow, August 10.

Gionee is also offering 2 years extended warranty on the A1 Lite, and has a couple of partner offers. New or existing Airtel Customers who purchase A1 Lite will get additional 10 GB data per month for 6 months on any data recharge of 1GB and above. Also, every purchase of Gionee A1 Lite will be accompanied with 2 Paytm cashback voice codes for shopping on Paytm Mall.
